Matthew C. Aragón
Hi, I'm Matt!
I'm a writer, student, cannabis public relations assistant, and drug nerd. I've also been involved in harm reduction education and drug policy reform activism since the age of 15.
As one of few in the United States to start a high school chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy, I provided fact-based education pertaining to risk reduction practices, the war on drugs, mass incarceration, and more to my peers. In 2017, I was invited to the 2017 International Drug Policy Reform Conference to speak on a panel regarding the future of drug education curriculum in K-12 schools. In 2018, I also helped to found the New Mexico chapter of DanceSafe, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health and safety within nightlife and electronic dance music communities.
Over the last few years, I've taken somewhat of a step back from my activism roles to focus on my education. I'm currently studying population health and chemistry as an undergraduate student at the University of New Mexico. When I'm not studying, working, or attending events with DanceSafe, you can usually find me in my back yard admiring my garden or in my room binge-reading Wikipedia articles.
While currently sparse, the "My Articles" page will be home to any & all content written by me. I've also included a "Resources" page, which will act as a neatly organized dumping ground for websites, books, articles, my thoughts, and other content that I'd like to share.
I'm always open to taking on new opportunities that allow me to apply my knowledge, skills, and experience. If you'd ever like to talk, feel free to reach out through any platform listed on my "Contact" page. I'm available and happy to answer questions, help with research, listen to pitches, and talk about life or anything else you wanna discuss.
